1. Sustainable

Unlike boats with traditional petrol engines, electrically powered boats do not burn fossil fuels, making them better for the environment. This is because burning fossil fuels releases a lot of CO2. On the water, an electric motor only consumes power from a battery. When this battery is charged on shore with green electricity, for example from solar panels or wind turbines, an electrically powered boat uses completely sustainable propulsion.

Because the motor of an electric-drive boat is powered by electricity and no fossil fuels are combusted on board, it does not make any noise. Indeed, an electric motor is completely silent. Just compare that to an electric car: you don’t hear its motor either. On the water, that makes for a wonderful, peaceful cruise where you can really enjoy the surroundings to the fullest.

1. No/low fuel costs

A day on the water can be quite expensive when you need to refill your fuel tank at the end of the day. However, with an electric-drive boat you don’t need to refuel with petrol, but just charge a battery. That means much lower fuel costs. If you can charge the battery with your own green electricity, for example from your solar panels, you actually won’t have to pay anything.
