Inside Power & Energy Lowlands
Our Identity & Mission
Technology only matters when it works in the real world. That is the mindset that shaped P&E Lowlands from day one. We design, build and commission complete marine energy and propulsion systems because engineering is part of who we are.
What started with motors, batteries, electronics and fuel cells has grown into a service driven company where systems, integration and hands on engineering take the lead. That shift is intentional. We know the products inside our systems because we worked with them long before we built solutions around them.
Our mission is simple.
We bring new energy, automation and autonomy to the water with technology that is reliable, understandable and ready for daily operation.
We are moving toward a future where electric propulsion, hydrogen and smart vessel technology are not prototypes but everyday tools. Our role is to make that future practical, clean and accessible for the people who work on the water.
Our Story & Evolution
P&E Lowlands began in 2017 in Willemstad, where inland shipping and marine craft meet every day. From the start, our focus was on electric propulsion and working hands-on with leading technologies. As projects grew in scale and complexity, so did our international reach.
Today, our headquarters in Breda anchors our operations in the Netherlands, while our Belgian roots shape how we work: pragmatic, technically driven and used to operating across borders. This “best of both worlds” approach allows us to support clients throughout Europe with ease.
Our inventory, work facilities and project workflows are set up to serve the European market efficiently, enabling us to design, test, integrate and deliver solutions without friction, regardless of where our customers are located.
Our Team
Behind P&E Lowlands stands a compact team with deep technical roots. The company was founded by Jean-Pierre, whose career in energy and marine technology spans several decades. His experience forms a steady base for everything we build. Thijs joined in 2019 and took over general management, steering the company toward its service-focused direction.
Joris leads our engineering work. He designs, builds and tests the systems we integrate, working closely with technicians and suppliers.
We stay deliberately small, adding specialists when projects demand it. This keeps us sharp, fast and fully involved in every vessel and every system we deliver.
